Behind the Scenes Planning during COVID-19
Museums have been closed for 2 months due to COVID-19. Many cultural workers continue to engage in behind the scenes work. Some of this work may include planning for exhibitions, collections care and renovations, or in the case of the Hornby Island Natural History Centre, a complete rebuild.
The Natural History Centre, once housed in the Hornby Island Community School, was destroyed by a fire in August 2018. The good news is that the school will be rebuilt and the Natural History Centre will reopen in 2022. Mighty Museum is excited to work with the Centre on plans for the future.
